I'm not like most chiropractors - I'll admit it.
Frankly, I think I preform a much greater service than some chiropractors.
Some chiropractors simply want to get you out of pain - which might seem great but ultimately that is a limited view on what our amazing profession is capable of.
I offer restorative and protective care for the spine and nervous system.
This means I have the ability to take a spine which is anything less than in optimal alignment - realign it - and keep it realigned.
See the difference?
This week I had a family come into the office and they brought a relative from out of town.
She was intrigued by the technique and wanted to know how much "one" adjustment would cost.
I told her what I charged for an adjustment and continued to adjust her family.
She then asked if she could get "one" adjustment while she was in the office.
I told her I don't adjust someone without first doing an assessment.
I think she was shocked by that.
Unfortunately, there are some chiropractors out there that adjust without first seeing what is going on in the spine and nervous system.
I told her that the assessment would take sometime to complete and that moreover than that - I would need to see her for more than one adjustment.
On my way home after thinking about it more I was trying to think of analogy to help paint the picture.
If you go to visit your son or daughter and they have a dentist appointment it might be odd but still in the realm of possibility to ask if you could have a cleaning while in town.
You would probably need an x-ray and exam beforehand and that is only assuming they can fit you in that day.
Now, imagine you visit your son or daughter out of town and they have to go to the orthodontist.
Your teeth are crooked and you have always wanted straighter teeth.
So you ask the receptionist if you could be seen that day.
If there was room in the schedule you would still need an exam and x-rays.
Then if you had those - what are they going to do for you?
Put the braces on your teeth - tighten them - wait 10 minutes and take them off?
That would be silly, right?
So why would I, as a chiropractor focused on aligning the spine and maintaining that correction throughout one's life, see someone for one adjustment?
It would be like putting braces on the teeth for 10 minutes.
If you are looking for a quick fix, I am not the chiropractor for you.
If you are looking to be healthier and live life to the fullest - I'm your chiropractor.
